Ít's possible to use moonshell 2 as default OS on the AK2i without YSmenu using Normmatt's AKAIO Loader:
Normmatt's AKAIO Loader only can start .nds files in the root of your card!
things to download:

1.moonshell 2.03 stable = http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=6450
2. Normmatt's AKAIO Loader = http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=138693
3.AK AIO = http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=5802
4. A DLDI Patcher = http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/downl...l-win32-gui.zip

Installation:

1. Backup all your files and remove everything.
2. Copy AK AIO to your microSD.
3. Copy the moonshl2 folder and the moonshl2.nds to your microSD.
4. DLDI pach moonshl2.nds
5. copy Normmatt's loader to the /moonshl2/extlink folder.
6. Copy the file akmenu4.nds to /moonshl2/resetmse/ on your card and name it RPGS.nds
7.Copy your backuped files back to your card(not the old firnware)
8. Start AKAIO on your DS(i)
9. Press [Start], select 'patches' and change 'autorun' to 'Enabled'
10. Start moonshell 2.
11. Turn of your DS(i) And open on your computer the /_AIO folder
12. right click on lastsave.ini and click properties
13. Now (on vista) click on read only and hite file or something. (I don't know how it is in English because I've the Dutch version) And click on OK.
14. Done! AK AIO can't edit the lastsave.ini so it always load moonshell on startup and not the last .nds file

press the b button to stop load moonshell when booting and stay in AK AIO

This is already in the MoonShell 2 and YSMenu thread, as an alternative to YSMenu, and I think it has a hread or two of it's own as well.

For the AK2i too by blocking the lastsave file? I didn't seen this solution and I thought it by myself to block the lastsave file.
But sorry if this solution was already in another topic. I didn't seen it.

Well, I dont think they actually mentioned doing that, but there are two seperate threads, each with a set of instructions for using AKAIO and Moonshell 2. And they both have instructions for YSMenu as well. And all the instructions have been confirmed to work I think.
