I have the Japanese version of MH3, and want to try translating some of the menus and dialogue. I have the ISO extracted, but when I open the file containing the japanese text with Madedit (A hex editing program), I don't get any japanese symbols. I have changed the language in Madedit to SHIFT-JIS (Japanese), but it only gives me some japanese text. If anyone knows what step(s) I'm missing, PM me or reply (don't really care).
Note: I have all available languages installed, and can view full Japanese text in various other programs (Just not madedit...).
