Hi everybody,

I recently bought Monster hunter tri, (PAL) version.
( after trying the NTSC version, LOL )

I also ripped the game to my Hard disk for backup loading ( convenience )
The problem is: I cannot join a city online. It gives me an error everytime 11688 or 11689 * unable to process*
I can make my own city to host without problems and anyone can join ( strange eh?)

I did'nt have any problems with the NTSC version.

Could this be an server problem ? or can it be my router acting up ?
The original disc gives same error btw.

i cant even connect, get an error 11613.
it gets to 75% in network mode and times out with the error, my copy is retail.

its odd all other games work fine, i have tried opening ports, having the wii in a dmz, changing wireless channel, changing incription but nother seems to make any difference.

if anyone has encountered this error and knows a fix please post, its doing my head in now i spent hours yesterday trying to fix it but still no luck.

I know your game is working, but have you already updated your IOS'?

Is you wii chipped, homebrew channel'd, or just POW (plain ole wii)?

Ok update, tried with 2 wii's one moded, other was brand new.
both have the same error message trying to connect online so i can rule that out.
tried connecting my internet through an old adsl modem with the nintendo wifi usb connector, same error so i can rule out a router problem even tho every other games works fine with wifi so didnt think it was my router anyway.
gonna try it over a friends house tomorrow hes on a different isp, other than that i dont know.
could it be a disc problem maybe? im on the pal ultimate hunters edition boxset version, anyone else bought that able to connect ok? really clutching at straws here now.

nintendo dont know whats wrong many users have contacted them, capcom are not responding to the issue.

its annoying, shelled out £60 for this game and so far its a huge waste

Well, going to add my own share of problems here:

I keep getting the 11617 error after it time out at 65% after choosing the City (Online) mode. I have a feeling I have to forward ports but I have no idea which ones. Any ideas?

Try using one of these from here If you notice that it's the NTSC-U game, I think you should give it a go with your PAL version.

If you don't have the proper IOS, I think the game will work, but won't be able to connect. Post here, of send me a P.M. if it works/doesn't.

well, thought i would post an update on the 11613 error.
we found the issue as to why the game couldnt connect (and still cant yet).
after alot of testing it seems that us customers on the isp murphx are unable to connect to the game because we are blocked by nintendo from accessing the monster hunter tri servers, nintendo have confirmed this now after we sent countless emails about it pointing them towards the issue.
they put it down to a global routing problem and not just european isp's, and say they are now working to resolve the issue a soon as they can as they wasnt aware of this problem until we figured it out.
so its a waiting game now, hopefully it will be resolved soon

edit - they fixed it.

After several months I still cannot join anybody... Very sad the online gameplay.

Any fixes as of lately?

EDIT: I've fixed the problem!

I did the recommended portforwarding from the CAPCOM unite page.
And it worked!

FINALLY!

If that fixed ur issue then get a new router, there is no reason that you should need to port forward for the game to work. Works just fine here without port forwarding and upnp disabled.

Why ? It works now so.
Also no problems with Smash brothers anymore.

I think it's stupid to buy a new router if port forwarding/ virtual server works.
I just opened up all ports for my Wii. That's all.
I had it in a DMZ but that did'nt help.

It must be YOUR router not firewalling your internet connection enough...I suggest YOU get a new router then.
It sounds to me that you have your network badly secured.
And do you know what upnp even is? It lets you connect/setup clients in a network with minimal configuration.
AND NOT ALL ROUTERS AND CONNECTIONS/SETUPS ARE THE SAME.

This is from Capcoms site: http://www.capcom-unity.com/monster_hunter...ection_Settings

I think I saw your name there....
