Gaming Monster Hunter 3 Beginning Guide.

I've been farming Ludroth for hours now. According to the MH wiki R. Ludroth has 26% of dropping spongy hides per carve. The quest reward has a 30% chance of giving you a spongy hide. If you break his Mane, there are two 37% chances of getting a spongy hide and after killing him about 7 times now, I still have not a SINGLE spongy hide... Last time I farmed the armor online and it only took about 3 runs.

drops depends on what quest you're taking on. i'm not entirely sure if its the same with tri yet but the other installments, for certain drops you had to do the later quests. the earlier quests for a certain monsters, you wouldn't get some drops.

i'll probably update this guide properly for the first few stars if people want it?

I would like to play with you too, but I'm a novice, I may not have the level to follow you on your missions.
I still have never played online (only tested the online town yesterday).
But I don't have an usb keyboard

No friend codes, no WC24 needed.

I finally got Spongy Hides! Three after one capture actually..

Still need about six more I believe.

It seems you only need the player name, or his gameID

Some people have found that they need WC24 on to connect to online, without it somepeople are getting error messages when trying to get online.
Almost half way done on the PAL version so I should have that tomorrow

and when I can afford to I'm SO going to buy the game, it's definately worth it (will probably buy my own Wii aswell)

Only need one more sponge so I'll go capture another R. Ludroth now, than capture/hunt a qurupeco to finish that armor as well. Then I'll go face Barroth for the first time.. again. I'm probably going to farm him again for the armor as well. The thunder res on that thing is great when fighting Lagracius, whom I'm also planning on farming for weapons/armor.

who makes Bone armor? Do I need to be in the City Online to get that constructed?

it can be forged very early on, just talk to the blacksmith in town (offline or online) it's only white armour.

Usenet ftw. Downloading with 3mb/s on pretty much everything I want. Too bad older games are a pain in the ass to find, especially ones that weren't popular. Just stopped playing Left 4 Dead 2, off to go grab my HD and play some Monster Hunter. Time to finally finish the Ludroth and Qurupeco armor and start farming Barroth and maybe Gobul.
