Yes, I also wanted to thank you for the ' Last, final version ' a couple of day ago, but I'm glad I hold off so I can tell you now...

THANK YOU for your hard work and years of support !

I can't say it I use ModMii too much these days, but still, if it didn't exist someone would have to invent it !

Hi guys, downloaded modmii today and carried out a system check which i had installed already, placed my sd into my pc and went to the Su command for updating your soft mod. copied and paste my system checks in to modmii section and it started downloading about 50 iso, wads what ever they are called. At the end it said copy to sd and it came up with a butch of folders called apps, bootmii and wads, plus two boot.dol. So i copied the dols, bootmii and wads over to my sd card, leaving out the apps at this time. Placed the sd card back into the wii, press the reset button to get preloader to come on with bootmii so i can use the mod manager safely and preloader came up but bootmii didn`t work. So i went back to the modmii download files and went into the app folder and saw hackmii there and started to get worried because it seems to me that the update wants me to do a complete restore of my softmod. I was really not sure what to do, weather to carry on and do a complete restore using hackmii or to copy back my old files to my sd card. Also i was not sure to merge the new modmii folders with my old one e.g like wads or just use a clean wad folder with the new wads only? could some please advise me because i only started to use this program because i have been told by many members on this forum to use modmil to update my system so i can go and play games online like cod(black opps).

Why wouldn't u copy over everything?

Placed the sd card back into the wii, press the reset button to get preloader to come on with bootmii so i can use the mod manager safely and preloader came up but bootmii didn`t work.

Why didn't u follow your custom ModMii guide?

So i went back to the modmii download files and went into the app folder and saw hackmii there and started to get worried because it seems to me that the update wants me to do a complete restore of my softmod.

It's not doing a complete "restore" of your softmod, it's resoftmodding it entirely. In other words, it's telling you to install the homebrew channel even though you may already have it installed (or maybe its an outdated version)

I was really not sure what to do, weather to carry on and do a complete restore using hackmii or to copy back my old files to my sd card.

No way for anyone to know what your "old files" are, whatever they are, they aren't needed for you to be able to follow your ModMii guide.

Also i was not sure to merge the new modmii folders with my old one e.g like wads or just use a clean wad folder with the new wads only?

If you merge them, be careful during your install wads step to only install WADs listed in your modmii guide.

could some please advise me because i only started to use this program because i have been told by many members on this forum to use modmil to update my system so i can go and play games online like cod(black opps).

.....yet another who does not follow directions.
How simple can it be?
and why on earth would you not copy the apps folder also?
that would be like putting a new engine in a car and not adding OIL

More like adding oil to a car without an engine.

I`m sorry guys, new to this and was working on this yesterday and it was getting late and i was tried( sorry :)) , ok i have read the instructions now, updated everything how it has told me to do so. Got to the bit about hackmii and followed instructions, prepared sd card and installed bootmii as an iso, it said successful but when i go to open up bootmii so i can backup my nand is goes to a black screen and i have to turn off the system. So i thought ok i need to do more updates, went and done a system check again in the hbc, gone to my pc and checked the system check list (on excel)and it looked different from the check list i did before, went onto modmii entered su and placed my system check list in again and all the same updates came up again. So i tried something i copied my backup bootmii file back into my sd and bootmii came up. Please without killing me here guys i could do with some help?

I don't understand why you had to copy the bootmii folder back, it should have already been there as part of the files ModMii downloaded for you. And if all it took to get bootmii working was to put the bootmii folder back on the sd card, well, it should have never left the sd card in the first place.

Run the ModMii Wizard, tell it your wii was never modded before, follow the guide in it's entirety. If some steps seem redundant don't worry about it, the complete softmod process doesn't take very long, and this way you are making sure u don't miss any steps. Oh yea, it should go without saying, but don't skip any steps... after your a seasoned veteran in the world of wii modding you can decide which steps (if any) may not be necessary.

Bootmii never left the sd card it was part of the file modmii told me to copy and paste to my sd card, copied it but it never worked even after using hackmii and following the instructions, so after checking the updates again on modmii and modmii wanted me to do the same updates i started to get worried that i had no protection and i would not be able to reload my nand. So i tried my backup bootmii folder from the time i did my first mod and it worked.
Could there be another problem here because it seems that modmii is not reading my system checker to get the same updates twice or is system checker not working correctly even though the updates have gone through and have been seen. Also for bootmii not to work? Can i post the wad list it told me use or my system check results ?

If for some random reason ModMii's syscheck updater isn't working for you, then just do what I said in my last post, which was a full resoftmod as if it was never modded before.

Feel free to share your syscheck(s). If you're copying and pasting text into your post, be sure to use spoilers so your post doesn't take up the whole page; if you're just uploading your csv files then u don't need to worry about that.

Btw, I'm assuming ModMii is saying X of X files downloaded successfully right? If any files are missing or invalid, then that would explain your issue.
