I have lego starwars the complete collection will that work instead of return of the jedi?
You are supposed to have The Complete Saga. The name of the hack is "Return of the Jodi". And no, it's not "Jedi". Jodi was the title ID for an older version of the HBC, and the name of someone who works at Nintendo. If you want more info, you just do some googling.

I thought it was from Jodi Wikle who bought a DS box full of rocks...

JoostinOnline has it right, like the older titled HBC it is refering to, JODI aka Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo’s senior director for anti-piracy. Team-Twizzers tried to extend an olive-branch to Nintendo concerning the exploit they found that could aid piracy (Team Twizzers is pro-homebrew and anti-piracy). Nintendo failed to act appropriately and things were left bitter between the two.

Read the web post (gotta find a copy as the original is gone): Pandora’s Xbox: The changing community of the modern console.

If I remember correctly, the security flaw they tried to report was AHBPROT (now part of the HBC for those who don't know), lol.

No, it was before they even knew about AHBPROT. It was the other magic TMD bit that enables DVD Video access (and hence allows reading of "backup" discs without a modchip).

No, read the second blog post again. The first report (March 08) was because they thought fixing the trucha bug would cause wiis with HBC installed to brick, the second report (June/July 08, right before Nintendo started manufacturing DVD drives that can only read game discs) was this:
QUOTE said:
The bug (as we intended to report it) wasn’t so much that you could poke a register to enable DVD video mode:
(snip)
… it was that you could just set a bit in the TMD (in the “access rights” field) and it would let you send DVD video commands.

I want to update my Wii but not sure the steps. I am on 4.3U , running
cIOS202[38+60]-v4
cIOS222[38+37]-v4
cIOS223[38]-v4
cIOS249[56]-v20
cIOS250[37]-v20
IOS80-64-v6943[TB+NAND]
I am running Usb loader Gx v2.1 and Darkcorps. When I last updated I tried v5 but had lots of problems running music games.
Should I remod using the guide or just install all the newer wads thru wadmanager?
Thanks to everybody for all there hard work and advice.

Typically the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach is a good one to follow

The reason I want to update is because I can't get the Smurf game to load and read that I need the newest rev21 for it to play with usb loader gx.

Ahh, yep install the new cIOS wads. It looks as if it needs a cIOS with a base of 56 and/or the ios reload blocking feature found in v6.

Hi all,

I see that this tutorial is using Hermes' v5. Why is it not using 5.1? I found a changelog somewhere:

CHANGELOG v5.1
===============
- Renamed the module /dev/usb2 in /dev/usb123
- New feature to disable / dev / mload: use "IOS_Open (" dev / mload / OFF, 0).

Aren't those changes interesting/required?

The mod.zip filepack (which will be the basis of the new guide) actually contains rodries mod of 5.1.

Ah, ok. I was confused, because the tutorial mentioned this:
4] Install custom IOS 202[57], 222[38], 223[37] & 224[57] [Hermes v5], 246[37], 247[38], 248[58], 249[56] & 250[57] [Waninkoko v21 d2x v6] to your wii.

Maybe this should be changed?

But thanks!
Bart

I have a question, which should be the safest way to change a Red Pal Wii to NTSC-U an with serial is LEF-700....?
I asked this cuz my uncle when he travel to France, buy for my cousin a Wii. Which of couse is Pal System. I live in Peru, South AMerica and here we use NTSC-U system. I've a NTSC-u Wii with componet cable, so i heard about connecting the PAL Wii with componet cable but in my Panasonic LCD doesnt have any signal. He told me that in his Sony LCD, with the simple AV-cable can have signal but white and black.
I know that first i should install a NONSTUB IOS60,70 and then install a 4.1u menu? But doesnt since 4.2 menu, region lock incorporated?
I google a mod version of ARC offline which install a 4.1 menu, so thats why i asked before i do sthg i dont.

Thanx in advance for ur answer

until recently that was the #1 way to do it, and it still should work safely, just make sure to read the instructions

the other newer method of regionchanging is to use "wiimod", I've never done it personally but I hear its pretty self explanatory, but ask for directions in the wiimod thread so u feel more comfortable

The Smash Stack doesn't seem to be working for me. I did everything as CompleteSoftmodGuide says, am using 2GB non-SDHC formatted to FAT32 and after mocing/deleting new game custom stages and re-entering the builder, the game freezes and gives me a beep/buzz (one time this, one time that) and nothing happens. I tried using the pack included at the beginning of the thread with no success either. European Wii with 4.3E and PAL Smash Bros. What should I do?

EDIT: OK, I dealt with it. Running Smash Bros. without the card and putting it in after exiting the game and THEN doing the things did the trick. ModMii ssssaves the day!

Yeah, i managed to do the region mod with this version of ARC MOD, but at that time was a second hand white Wii and i can install Bootmii as boot2, so if anything goes wrong i can always can restore the NAND. So i did without any doubts.
A little out of topic, doesnt all LCD Full HD TV support all regions?
