install a non-fakesigned version of IOS61, then reinstall the homebrew channel

here is a package u can download that will make your life easier

HBC Upside-Down & No Vuln IOS Solution v2_by X-Flak.rar

edit: this will fix the upside-homebrew channel and/or no vulnerable IOS problems, but thats all... u should still be following a good guide for the finer things

Is there a reason you are updating to 4.1 instead of 4.2 (as this thread's guide is for)? I see you are going through the overly complicated walkthrough instead of the steps posted in the OP. I'm not sure where you went wrong, but I would just go back to the OP and try and fix it using the steps there. But that's me. Maybe you could wait for someone with more experience to post...

EDIT: I see more experience was quicker than myself.

Get a IOS60-64-v6400.wad (nus downloader, enable pack->wad) and place it in the SD card root
then try again (be sure you still press - , not A)

u sure about that version? that's a stub ios... did u mean IOS60v6174

Yes I am sure about the version

Don't worry xflak, I won't let anyone install a stub system menu IOS
Its just that for some unknown reason, DOP-IOS MOD needs v6400 to install v6174
If I'd only know why...

My guide isn't more complicated
Its more detailed...

Questions:

1. My Wii is at SM 3.4u right now (already softmodded). I want to use this guide, but are there any additional steps I need to take since my Wii is already modded? (I have Starfall installed still, if that's any indication of how long ago I did this).

2. Is this guide still up-to-date? I see it was posted last year.

Thanks!

Touché. Much better word choice. Sorry, no offense intended. ;)

1. If you look just a few posts up, you will see I was in almost the exact same situation. I had 3.2U until last June. I updated to 4.0U and have had the system packed away since. I just did the guide in the OP today and am up and running just fine.

2. Of course it's up to date, look at the "last updated" date in the OP, not the date of the OP.

Great, thanks for the help.

i followed this guide exactly and got a Wii that will randomly go into the system menu and at other times doesn't and says "Error autobooting system menu could not get tmd size."

anybody know what would cause that to happen? i didn't use anything other than what came in the modify.zip and a neogamma channel wad.

ok.... ive done the guide, and i believe i have this soft modded, i hope... but whenever i use anything in the HBC, the screen goes black and my wiimote turns off.... Ummm? Lul wut?

I can't get USB Loader GX to work
can anyone help?
I used the 4.2 modify guide from the OP
You should probably look for help on that in a thread about SUB Loader GX.

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=149922

I just got this mod done today and already have half of my games ripped to my USB HDD. First you need to prepare a partition. Then you need a WBFS Manager to format the partition. If you installed USBLGX correctly, you should be able to just run it and it will detect the HDD automatically. I think you must have the HDD plugged into the USB port on the bottom/right (depends on how you set your Wii).

Do I need it install all of the software in the OP guide to play back ups on dvdr and on my sd card or is it just certain ones, if so which one's

Just follow the guide and you'll be able to play games from dvdr(if drive capable) and usb hdd

QUOTE(lewikenzie1 @ Feb 9 2010, 02:08 PM) Quick question, i have a wii which does not play dvds or back ups (but plays off usb) i was wondering would i need to swap the dvd drive and the board or just the board or the drive
thanks in advance
you can swap the drive or the board on the drive I think
