Is the cios 222/223 v4 installer the same one that comes with uloader 3.0?

If so, the default installation is :

cIOS202 -> 38+60
cIOS222 -> 38
cIOS223 -> 38+37

But how come the guide suggests :

cIOS222 -> 38+37
cIOS223 -> 38+60

Just curious...
to each his own i use:
38+37 for CIOS222
37+37 for CIOS232 (to get rockband instruments to work)
55+37 for CIOS223 (to get games like Guitar Hero 5 to work)

i used this guide before it came with a packed zip file and it worked fine.

I was asked to do this for my cousins wii and the problems started from the start.

First of i couldnt load bannerbomb, had to go to the website and download a different version (Is this guide now wrong for the version of bannerbomb or doesnt the version matter one bit?)

then i did the first step and it flipped my hbc upside down.. i looked around and it said that something about the installing ios61 step will fix it so i followed the guide to that part and im now up to step 4 but hbc is still upside down..

where do i go from here? the first guide... about 1 week or so ago worked perfectly but now im just lost
When in Homebrew, push the Home button. In the top right hand corner it will tell you what IOS your Homebrew is installed on( had the same thing happen to me). They load on different IOS's so no one method will work for everyone. The ones i have done are either IOS35, IOS36 or IOS61. Just use DOP-IOS to reinstall a fresh IOS according to what your Homebrew is installed on.

As I could not have boot2, I tried to launch Bootmii via HBC and there is a black screen on my display. So how could I make a NAND backup? No change with GC controller

EDIT: NAND backup done finally. Just have to launch bootmii during the bottom right icon flashes

QUOTE
1a] Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Press B to choose No IOS Reload.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Go to Downgrade IOS15.
Press A to downgrade.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.

1b] Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Choose IOS15 and press A. (Important)
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Choose IOS36 menu. In there use these settings:
Install IOS to slot (36)
Hash check (trucha) YES
ES_Identity YES
Nand Permissions YES
Then press A on install patched IOS36.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.

Ok, I just finished 1a].
Now go on on 1b]. But on my screen there is no choice for IOS15.
All I have :

Trucha Bug Restore 1.0 By WiiPower IOS36 (Revison 3351)
Unofficial System Menu 4.2x Update Compatibility MOD by da_letter_a
Select which IOS to load IOS36
Press B to continue without IOS reload

Thanks for your help
Hit the right directional button and the "Select which IOS to load IOS36" Will toggle to different IOS's.

I've been trying to get my backup and iso DVDs to play on my LU39 4.2.
Every time i load a backup disc, it gives an error "Dvd read error 1101"
~blah blah~
Anybody got any clue? Is it the LU39 problem? Anybody got this working using this guide on a LU39?

Are you using DVD-R or DVD+R?

Do you think media could be the culprit ?

I have used 2 different brands of DVD+R and burned my disc as "at once" with 8x or lower. Tried over 4 iso files.
There is your problem. You should be using DVD-R.

I have a 4.1J, and followed your guide. It works like a charm. Thank you.

Now i have a problem as trying to play MPT. As other post indicates, I need to install cIOSv13b in order for the game to work. And that means it is a downgrade of step 2 on your guide. So my questions are
1. Will this downgrade from cIOS from v14 to v13b brick my wii? And is it safe?
2. If it is OK to do so, do I need to repeat steps 3 and forth after I downgrade?

Thank you.
It is safe, but i think there are more games thant won't play with v13b than with v14. What i do to play dual layer games is use a USB loader and change the settings to run IOS222 (IOS222 being IOS38+IOS37) and it works perfectly. Or you could just switch from v13b and v14 every time you play one of these non-playable games.

Big Problem!

New guy here. Was following the guide until Step 4 Run Wad Manager. By mistake I selected uninstall System Menu-Nus-v449. Now all I have is a black screen! So frustrated. I guess i totally bricked it. Any help?

V3.4 Wii
I guess Bootmii is on IOS because it didn't boot up after a restart (when working Wii). I had to start it from HBC. I didn't get to installing Preloader. Am i totally for a loss here. Please help.

xzxero,
Thanks for the tutorial.

I have a 4.1U virgin.
I just need it to be softmodded to run USB loader for backup iso games.
I don't even need all the forwarder or WAD channel support, nor VC and viiware games. It wouldn't bother me if I have to go through sys menu->HBC->USB loader->game, safer with least hacks I guess.

I have a few questions to follow your 3.x ~ 4.1 guide:
For my requirements (as my wii is already 4.1U), I don't need step 4 ~7, correct?
For my requirements, it should be pretty safe, therefore I can do without preloader, right?

The hackmii installer just released 0.5 and 0.6, I am planning to stick to 0.4 for this mod.
If I want to upgrade to a newer HBC and Bootmii, what is the process?

Do I need to uninstall the old HBC and Bootmii using the old HackMii and then do the newer HackMii installation or just install over the existing ones?

Sorry for all these noob questions.
Thanks alot

Sorry, what do you mean by that?
I have been reading a lot and searching high and low, I understand the concept of IOS and slots.
But the relationships between different slots (revisions) still confuse me like hell.

Is there a post to explain all the IOS slots so I can understand better?

Thanks

I have no wireless at home for the moment so my Wii cannot access the internet.

Will my Wii need to access the internet in this procedure? I notice the requirements state only a PC is needed but doesn't the Trucha Bug Restorer need the net or are all the files included above?

Don't really have the time to test it atm so I thought I'd ask quickly, may just wait til I have wireless here again...

Thanks for all the great help

Huh? GH5 works fine for me with cios222 (38+37). Or am I missing something?
