Modded consoles like the switch i can somewhat understand but save editors that's only for single players is a bit extreme to be sent to jail for.

is there an official source from the japanese government of this amendment if i recall it was hearsay (on the reddit ethics board) from a japanese AP group that interperated the law vastly as a scare tactic it was for online game modding iirc

I think Japan is taking this way too far. I know this is to avoid piracy, but people bought the console with their own money, they have the right to do whatever they want to it. Of course, companies do have rights to ban your system because it's their own private rules, but JAIL TIME?
