Hello!

After not using my Switch for a while (~3 months), I tried booting it again. Of course the battery was dead and did not turned on, so I put it in the dock to let it charge. The problem is that it doesn't charge at all and the Switch overheats like crazy and makes a small buzzing noise when trying to turn it on. The HWFLY doesn't blink or anything too. I don't know what to do because it's really hot so I'm not confident about letting it charge.
What's your take on this?

Thanks, have a great day

My uneducated guess is that your battery was drained too much and that the charger circuit inside the Switch is having a real hard time trying to charge it.
Lithium batteries don't like to be drained too much and get damaged if they do.
It could be as simple as replacing your battery but maybe the battery also damaged the charging circuit.
That buzzing sound is a coil that is used in the charging circuit.
The heat likely comes from the charging chip.

I recall reading somewhere that you need to have a working battery to boot up the CFW/OFW.
Maybe without the battery you can get into Hekate to see if the charging chip is still reporting some statistics.
Or take it to a good repair shop.

I'll let you know.

Try to hold the power button for 10 seconds before you try to power it on, I once had an oled switch with a completely dead battery, after plugging it to the charger for several hours it booted itself to rcm mode. Thought it was dead since pressing power button does nothing and chip isn't responding. Holding power button for 10 seconds completely turned it off.

Also if it gets too hot to the touch them probably something's off, try to charge it with a 5v usb charger, leave it charging for several hours or overnight, see if the console boots up

Just tried what you mentioned and nothing works. I plugged it to my pc to see if TegraRCM recognised it but nothing. It still gets crazy hot while charging.
