Hardware modchip or softmod ?

any region softmodded wii can play any region game via a usb-loader. ...........FYI, priiloader regionfree everything hack allows u to play out of region games via your system menu (so disc channel and wiiware) and it has no effect on usb-loaders
Thanks for clearing that up - as you know I'm a relatively newbie to this softmodding
As for the comment about certain games have problems - IIRC I didn't have any problems with Wii Sports Resort (but could that be because it is a backup of the original disk & not an 'obtained' version ??)

As for checking out my games, although XFlak has already confirmed this - I can also confirm that I do have a mixture of NTSC and PAL running on a PAL Wii

hmmm if i softmod it what kind of games would i get ? Scrubbed or wbfs? or is it the same ?

after soft mod, should i just play Pal games ? or could i run ntsc games ? only running games throught usb driver

If you want to play many NTSC games, there's no way around using a loader, even if you had a modchip. A modchip can change some bits of the disc to trick old system menus to boot the game, but it doesn't work on the latest system menu anymore. A loader on the other hand can run 99%(maybe it's 100%) of import games, and it's totally irrelevant what system menu you have. Also playing NTSC games on PAL is easier than playing PAL on NTSC, because the main issue there is the video mode. Most games can only be played in the video mode for the region they were made for, but if you have a PAL tv, you probably won't even notice if a game runs in PAL or NTSC video mode.

Nothing wrong with being a newb, u are learning quickly and supplying others with helpful info... that's an A+ in my books!

I said "if u've already seen the video at least once on the wii, u don't need to watch it again", so if u already watched the video using the original disc, u don't need to use the alt-dol 'trick' to watch it again. But basically, if the wii has NEVER seen the motion plus video (either via backup or dvd), and u are trying to play the game off of a usb-loader, u need to change the alt-dol to player.dol in order to watch the video, then when its over, restart the usb-loader, and change the alt-dol back to normal, and it will play like normal.

got one problem, how do i insert game in my hdd ? its formated fat32.. when i just put the ciso files in the root, nothing happend when i use usb loader.... could not find any games
