GCN Modchip installation/operation guides?

I'm looking to get soldering on my old GC soon and would like to know about modchips. Today I found out that you have 'programmers' and cables and stuff.

Quite frankly I have no idea what I'm doing. But we all started out somewhere, therefore... I would like to know if anyone knows of a site or a guide for beginners.

Check sites like Tehskeen, dcemu, modthatcube (or just psx-scene) for info on these matters. Unfortunately, even though mnay companies still produce their chips, almost none of them keep their websites up and running anymore. It was quite a hassle for me to simply find the solder points for a Xeno GC.
