Give us what error!!!

They ain't your generic windows error code!
It's the standard WAD won't load error. I think it's -2011. It's the same error that got me here in the first place. I tried loading some VC channels up and because it's 3.4U it wouldn't go through. I did the first 3 steps of the Wii Fix but it still won't take the cIOS Fix. I know -2011 is popped when 3.4U won't allow a WAD to load, so how do I get around it?

Did you installed IOS16 (You gotta get it off somewhere, but not here)?

If so, did you tried Custom WAD Manager?

If so, did you tried Normal WAD Manager?

And in WADs, no error is standard, each has it's own meaning, and it's own fix.

I know clarky and afif have this in hand , but if all comes to all - check out the guide in my signature - i try to keep them as simple as possible and the guide is in the small writing without having to download the zip - if you think its any good you can get the zip after.

If you don't want to downgrade don't downgrade, just need to:

Use normal Wad Manager to install IOS16.
Use Custom Wad Manager IOS16, to install what's on my signature.

Then you can do whatever you want, use the Gamma Launcher, Downgrade to 3.2 and install Starfall, go take a shower, come to Vallarta and get a nice sunbird, smoke a joint and shit at the same time, watch "the sound of music" for 33rd time, etc...!!!

noooo dude i was praisin u lol...

dont get it twisted , you actually was givin information, you was thankful, and you then when away and read what you needed to read...anyways back to the problems.

continue through the entire guide til your back down to 3.2 with starfall installed.

and for the 3rd time man...they are WADS not MODS lol

these are installed from /wads/ on your SD card, using WADManager which you will launch from HBC (/apps/wadmanager/boot.dol)

once you have completed the guide however and are down to 3.2 i suggest you do a bit of background reading of the literature that has been stickied, this is not a flame, more ADVICE, no 1 wants to see another bricked console.
No. They go in SD:/mods and you install using the MOD Manager (SD:/apps/modmanager/boot.dol) by Modinkoko.

You know, considering my "problem" or whatever you want to call it, it seems I have been given at least 5 different ways to go about doing what I want to ultimately do. Do these different methods yield the same results, or is each a different endstate? I don't want to lose the functionality I have with the console as it is now.

Por ejemplo:

I've got Ether2802 saying downgrading isn't necessary. I just need to click on his face.

djtaz has a guide that probably has similar results, but different steps.

Clarky is saying use IOS the cIOS to downgrade.

And of course, there's the completion of the 28 October post by pir8.

I suppose what I'm asking is, which is best? Of course, each of those listed above are going to jump in and say theirs is.

Stupid question.

Do they all end up at the same place?

Oh, and is there anyone who can retitle this thread to WAD instead of .mod like my dumbass did with a 6-pack in me?

So, just to get my terminology down, I use the MOD manager to install WADS, right?

dude the best method is the one you feel comfortable with...

if you jus wanna play backups then boot wadmanager with twilight hack, install IOS16, then boot custom wadmanager using twilight again and install Waninkoko's cIOS r7.wad and the backup channel.wad of your choice...

if you want full 3.2 fun and games with wadinstalls, and starfall and eventually disc channel loading using CORP cios..

then get Taz's guide, follow it to completion..

come back when you finish that, and we'll see where we go from there mate...

I want to do it all, bro. If I do this, I want to know everything I need to know. No point in doing anything half-assed.

My bad. I thought it did it automatically. I'll try to fix it. I should be w/in the edit window.

yeah. like its been said if you want it all, youre gonna have to do it all, that means downgrade, starfall, hbc, and maybe preloader and cioscorp once you fully understand it.

I'm trying to install IOS16. That's where the problem is. I got IOS16-64-v257.wad last night, but now I realize that I should have gotten IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad. I assume this is the problem, if there is a difference between the two. Perhaps all this would make much more sense if I understood what the file name means.

I am assuming it's IOS16 (the OS designator), 64 bit?, and version 257. What's the prod all about?
