I though backup launcher gamma only runs on cIOS249 rev 7, which is included in the pack from wiigator.

Gamma always runs IOS249, not matter what you have installed there. It's recommend to install WiiGator's cIOS36 rev 7 to IOS249. [cIOS249 rev 7: ??? a custom IOS based on IOS249 ???]

There have been a few versions of cIOS 249, with revision 7 being the newest one. When I got my app to dump games over wifi (forget name) it came with cIOS249 rev 3.

Don't call it "cIOS249", IOS249 is just the position where it is installed. It's cIOS36 rev 7 or cIOS36 rev 3 in your examples.

Just look here:

I'd seen that, are you saying the error I have is related to video? I've an NTSC game/console/TV.

My toy is for general purpose, this includes video mode patches. I think you begin to understand what i said with "If you were an experienced user [...]"

I'm not going to argue with you, but it didn't/doesn't work as I've noticed most who responded to your post also noted.

It's apparently well know (now to me) that MLB Power Pros 2008 doesn't work - I can only find one fellow who claims it does.

Are you trying to get "MLP Power Pros" or "MLB Power Pros 2008" to work? Look here:

Oh, my toy works, i don't know if the people are using my toy in a wrong way or if it's the games they try.

MLB POWER PROS 2008 does NOT work on 0.3 gamma.
i've posted at least 3 threads about this on this forum alone (just read my posts if you want).
and that 1 fellow who claims it works, was mistaken.. it was just MLB power pros, not MLB power pros 2008.

so i repeat, MLB POWER PROS 2008 does not work on .03 gamma no matter what you do... patching it to ios 249, #002 fix, using various medias, it simply doesn't work.
i'd love to be proven wrong, but it's not just me.
me and my friends got every other games to work except this 1 particular game... someone please solve it!

If the game shows the 001 error, the only thing i suggest to work would be the 001 fix and not the 002 fix. And to test this i would use my toy, but i guess the game isn't worth this work.

@dlxowhd:
Could you try to run the ios version patched disc with the gamma rebooter? This method works at least for Sam & Max as it seems.

when i run the 1:1 copy with autoboot, it says this:
"an error has occured.
press the eject button, remove the game disc, and turn the power off.
please read the wii operations manual for more information."

and when i reboot with a rebooter and run the game, it says something like this:
"illegal device detected. eject the disc and turn the power off."

both after the health warning and during the loading screen.

same thing happens with #002 fix but i haven't tried #001 fix because i didn't even know about that.. what is it?

can someone who has this game (maybe mcgyver) plz try this out?
my friend (he has a modchip installed) is borrowing this game because it doesn't work on mine, so i can't test anything at the moment... basically i gave up trying to make this game work on gamma.

What exactly do you want me to try? Remember I'm a softmod kinda guy - tape and all.

that 001 fix thing wiipower was talking about.
damn this really pisses me off 'cause mlb power pros 2008 is my favorite wii game.

I used his "toy", saved the dump and then used the generic wii patcher to delete 001. Saved the dol and using his "toy" booted it - nothing changed. I can't remember the way to pull the main.dol out of the iso and then modify, and then replace it BACK into the iso, THEN burn it.

That might work.

This game is working fine for me. Here's the details. Maybe it'll be helpful. Maybe not, but here it is.
1:1 backup burned at 4x on maxell dvd+r booktype set to dvd-rom
Waninkoko's cIOS36_rev7.
I usually launch out of the disc channel using menu patcher, but it's also working with gamma and softchip r74.
my guess would be that you either have an older cIOS or it's a bad iso. I wouldn't be suprised if a lot of people downloaded the same bad iso and just thought that the game wasn't compatible.

Which one are you playing the one with 2008 or without 2008 in its name?

I'm thinking I've V6 of cIOS36 - how can I tell?

The odd thing here is that when I installed Gator 0.3 I installed all that came with it and haven't touched it since.

SoftChip tells you which revsion your IOS has, if you load IOS249, there has to be a IOS249 (Revision x) somewhere on screen.

V6 damned.

Do you know where JUST 249 v7 is?

I've been looking for an hour.

************************************* 01.02.2009 ***************************************

Did it.

First the sucker is burned on a Verbatim -R at 2.4/verify

Second, I'm pretty sure that I had V6 of 249, and as NO-ONE had a way other then deleting and reinstalling the sucker, to be able to tell what to run to FIND OUT WHAT VERSION I had, I deleted it and re-installed it - completely - BUT not from the 0.3 package, I found (I don't remember where) the Rev 7 of the file and that is what I ran - all installed properly and the baby loaded.

Now on to Ratatoullie and Wall-E.

Added: This also went through (the update) without a hitch, the first any of my installs that needed to go to the net to update have. I'm wondering if it fails and you restart, before you delete what might have been installed, it gives you a corrupted install.

BTW, it really would be nice to have an app to tell what versions of ÂIOS you had installed, that way people could compare and side-step needless installs.

BTW (2) Ratatouille stinks - all locked - you gotta buy everything to play - there is no way - out of the box Disney is going to let you play - F**K them.

it can't be a bad iso, because it works fine on modchipped wii.
only thing you did differently is setting the booktype.. i never tried it.
and i don't have softchip.
can someone plz send me the softchip? not the channel version, but dol version, so i can check my cios version? (i'm 99.999% sure it's v7).
