So i'm not entirely sure where I went wrong with this but recently I decided to open up more space for my 3ds using Ease Partition but accidentally applied yes when leaving no allocated space on my sd card. Now when I opened up RxTools and booted EmuNand everything is gone and the firmware is the same 9.2 when I first downgraded. I tried putting back 2GB of allocated space on my 3ds again with Ease Partition but it doesn't seem to fix the problem, any help here at all?

If you have a backup of your emuNAND, backup your SD card data, use emuNAND9 to format without emuNAND then format with emuNAND (to make sure it's formatted correctly), then use Decrypt9 or Hourglass9 to restore the backup. If you don't have a backup, your stuff is probably lost.

If you never unlinked your sysNAND and emuNAND your data will still work but if you did, all gone (though you can try doing a single format of your sysNAND and hope it gets the same ID as your old emuNAND and your data will work again).

Just to make sure I can use the USB Image tool to back up my emunand? Sorry if it seems dumb but it's been a months since I used my 3ds.

I don't know what the USB image tool is - emuNAND9 is the recommended way to format an SD card because it does it properly

Can't really access homebrew to use Emunand9 since I used Cubic Ninja from a cia on Emunand. I'm guessing I have to purchase a copy of it if I want get back homebrew then?

Just use MultiNAND tool to format and inject the emunand, I've used this a dozen times and it works like a charm.

You can't use Decrypt9 etc from emuNAND anyway (assuming it's updated past 9.2). Get into homebrew however you are launching emuNAND. Eg if with menuhax, replace boot.3dsx with the original homebrew launcher one.

If you have emunand tool and a emunand backup you can reinject it back into the sd card, otherwise you lose the data.Anoughter weard thing about emunand is it downgrades to 9.2 whenever you reinject it no matter the backup but you will always be able to update it to the latest firmware.

Now to what really needs to be addressed....rxtools.....You may not know this but it is outdated and can be harmful to your sysnand.I recommend switching to luma and on your emunand by downloading the latest release on github which only takes about 5minutes of your time To get working.

Once you get comfortable with luma on menuhax, you can go and do a9lh which requires some studying before using this guide https://plailect.github.io/Guide/ a9lh is the better replacment since menuhax is becoming obsolete and you can freely update your sysnand without the fear of losing Cfw access.

What? No. It'll be on whatever firmware it was on when the backup was made.

Probably on anoughter tool I guess.Whenever I did it with emunand tool on my computer it would do that on my other sd card for some reason or the backup was on fw 9.2.

Yea I already know about rxtools being outdated but I don't really trust myself to change cfw's properly for it.

That's what I thought at first. There isn't really any risk switching to luma in emunand though.
