Hacking Mios Patcher Not Working

I have a softmodded Wii that can play Wii backups fine. And to play gamecube backups, I downloaded all the things I needed, and installed the cios249 fine. But whenever I load up the Mios Patcher my Wiimote just turns off and I can't get it to reconnect. How can I fix this?

Yeah that was the problem, I figured that out soon after posting this.
