Yay. Anyway decided to run with each stick on it's own for a few hours.
I didn't notice anything, until about 2 hours in, one stick crashed. Further testing revealed that it crashed at random intervals.
The other however, I left for aaaaaages and no crashes. Had it in for a week now?
Anyway, I'll just return them lol. So problem is solved!
