is there by anychance a way to put texture pack for your server, as of right now im using a bukkit server, help?

Thanks in advance

If your server uses a custom client/launcher, you can put the texture pack in the client that the launcher downloads. Other than that, no. Texture packs are client side, although someone found a way to do a server side texture pack on classic IIRC.

I really dont recommend doing a custom launcher
Agreed. Reason being:

The launcher is the window that comes up when you run Minecraft. Username, password, and such.
A custom launcher is an unauthentic launcher that still runs through Minecraft's servers, but since it's made by other people, your account information could potentially be stolen during the process.

I agree too on the above statements.

Without a custom launcher, you won't be able to get a texture pack to show for everyone.
However, you could make a whitelist, and only allow people that confirmed they have the texture pack you desire (for example, the LAST DAYS SMP server is based on the texture pack with the same name, and there is a whitelist, where you have to specifiy if you use the texture pack or not.)

Don't you think that's kind of silly though?
I mean, sometimes the texture packs do make drastic changes- enough so that worlds would look very different compared to when using other texture packs. But it still seems silly judging your whitelist on how your grass looks.

The only reason I would find sensible wold be the prevention of "transparent textures" which allow you to see certain blocks (everything is invisible except lava, diamond, w/e).

I don't like that idea I suggested too, but it's the only thing that comes into the direction of the asker.
I never join servers with whitelists, even if a lot of servers do have one.

True, true.

Most of the time, they're quite useful. I mean, I think it'd kind of suck if you built some impressive structure when all of a sudden you come back the next day to see it destroyed.
But then again, it's all part of the game, eh?

Precisely.

Custom / unauthentic clients or launchers are not recommended for this reason.

If one really needs extra features that require such client-changing mods, best to wait for the official mod API that Mojang is workin' on.
