Minecraft Nintendo Switch Crossplay Trailer

The latest version of Minecraft, titled Better Together, has been updated on the Nintendo Switch eShop, and has received a new trailer boasting the crossplay feature of the game. This version is free for those who already own the game, and will allow Switch users to get Windows achievements, and to play online with players on Xbox One and Windows 10, and very noticeably, not PlayStation 4 users. This trailer only further demonstrates Sony's issue with cross platform play, after their stance on not allowing crossplay with Fortnite between Switch and PS4. You can purchase Minecraft: Digital Version for the Nintendo Switch today, and receive the free update to the latest, separate version.

I hope the PS5 will fail gloriously forcing Sony to allow cross-play on PS5 (just like MS this gen suddenly realized that cross-play is a nice thing after not beeing as succesful with the XBox One as they where with the 360 :rofl2:). Maybe with the next gen finally all companies play together when it comes to cross-play. If you want me to buy your consoles make exclusive games and not try to seal up 3rd party games...
It mentions explicit Win10 not just Win for cross-play, does that mean the Better Together version on Windows isn't the Java game, but the Win10 one?

Edit: Yep. Better Together on Windows is the Windows 10 version not the Java version. Was to expect that this will happen.

Does anyone know of this will let you play the same world on Xbox and Switch? For example I start the world of my Xbox one and then play that same world on my switch while i’m out?

(I am not totally sure)
Yeah, pretty sure it would work. But you’d, um, well you’d need WiFi. Like a mobile hotspot or something.

I was hoping there would be like a cloud sync. Once I connected my switch to WiFi it would sync the saves on a cloud server and then to the Xbox. It’s not that big of a deal. I can always dock my switch to the tv, I just prefer to play my Xbox at home and switch on the go. It would have been nice to be able to continue the same world on both.

I prefer PS4 over Xbox One because of the games, however Microsoft is gaining me with this and Sony is going the opposite.
Not a big Fan of Minecraft but since they are Supporting the cross play, I'm getting it.

I just don’t get it, it’s not like Sony is losing sales because of it. Yeah there are some people that would buy a PlayStation just because all there friends have one but I think a lot of people just play their preferred system. I think if more games are adopted in to cross play this could really potentially break them. Right now it’s not a big deal but it could become massive.

I bought ps4 for its exclusive titles, did u guys bought a ps4 to play that garbage of Towel Eiffel simulator Fornite and minecraft with others on X1 pc or switch?

then you made a mistake...
