In case you missed it, Minecraft for the New 3DS has just been updated to version 1.7.10, which brings with it the End, and the Ender Dragon, Shulkers, and everything else associated with the Ender update. The game finally has an ending! A few DLC packs were also added, including a Star Wars prequel pack.

A full list of changes can be found at:

This marks the first major update that's going to cause trouble for CFW users after 11.8 dropped and Freeshop stopped working. Interested parties will need to do some Googling.

Minecraft on the N3DS makes no sense to me.
It's a very "pickup and play" sorta game imo, so it fits pretty well. It's just too bad that the controls are shoddy and it was an all-around below average port, but I guess they're improving it.

It's gotten a lot better since it came out. It ran at a bumpy 30FPS when it came out, but they buffed it to a smooth 60. It's also the coziest and most portable way to play Minecraft, in my opinion.

They've got it running at 60? Now that's impressive.

I guess that's a better reason than any to pick it back up again. Thanks for pointing that out!

I wasn't aware they optimized it that well since launch. Will have to try it out again.

I would think Minecraft Pocket Edition would be the most portable edition, no? You are much more likely to have your phone on you than your 3DS.
