I doubt many people have interest in this seeing its the 3ds version which is probably the least card for version, but this build is just a legacy console port. So the code from the PS3, Xbox360, original Xbox One, PS4, etc versions is the same.

So wouldn't it make the most sense to start from the PS4 version?

Someone tried something like this in the past and that didn’t get anywhere
https://gbatemp.net/threads/minecra...ght-happen-that-is-if-a-team-is-formed.534913
With Minecraft now being close to identical on everything with a screen, I think most people don’t care to work on this version
The thing with that thread and this thread (and for many other of these kinds of projects) is that the OP always needs to have a ‘team‘ to make it work, which always comes down to ‘I don’t know anything about programming, I hope someone else will do all the work”

I can do implementing the new blocks, the custom banner,
ALL I NEED is the GUI code to create the new stuff (like smithing table)

This is incorrect

The 3DS Version of Minecraft was a completely seperate Code Base specifically built for the 3DS
The code would not necessarily be compatible

Minecraft for 3DS and 360, Wii U, etc all need supported on ALL systems it's been ported to until the game itself has support for it ended by the devs. This is bullshit for people that bought the game and have to keep buying the game again once the updates stop.

Honestly though, Minecraft should just be free, and you should just need to buy a Minecraft account to use it. That way everything you do can be synced to the account, and you can just move to newer platforms and sign in to play without having to keep rebuying the game over and over. And if they really wanted to cash in on players, they'd tie your Minecraft data to your mandatory OneDrive account so you'll need to pay for storage upgrades down the road. Imagine that... Paying to store Minecraft items IRL, lol.

Thats my bad then. I check out this version for a moment and instantly assumed it was a legacy console port just seeing how it felt.

Shubshub is also not 100% correct as the 3DS version uses the mobile Bedrock edition as a base. Probably done because the 3DS also has an Arm processor

Interesting. So it uses Bedrock as a base put ports some of it's menu assets from legacy console.

If it uses Bedrock as a base, then it might be a LITTLE easier to add new things. But that is my opinion, it can very well be harder than expected since we also have to account for the fact that even the New 3DS/2DS consoles are still very underpowered.

I just loaded up the game for the first time ever and it crashed when loading a world. second try it just loaded into a world with everything but the player invisible.

Upon further inspection, You are right
But its not based on Bedrock as they didnt start using the term Bedrock until the Unification of the Non-Java Codebases

Apparently it is based upon on a fork of the Pocket Edition 0.15.4 Alpha Edition and is mostly equivalent of Pocket Edition 1.1.5

For what it's worth, I'm porting over the Norse Mythology Mash-Up Pack. A few of us are still trying to figure out technical details like audio and other issues.
