I have the strangest problem. When I run certain games I get sound but no screen output. These games run fine when installed on my regular nand and loaded through the regular wii menu, but through Mighty Channels (and Triiforce before that) I get this problem. If I push the "home" button I actually do get to see the "pause screen" and the game graphics, but as soon as I continue the game - everything is black again.

I have a pal Wii and run pal VC Games. I tried a Neo Geo game "Art of Fighting" and a SNES Game "Kirbys Dream (Something).

Can anyone shed som light on this?

Thanks.
That's a common problem of VC
It seems that the image isn't compatible with your TV for some reason. Are you using the same NAND dump from your real one? Maybe if you are using another dump (or an old dump) the configuration changed.
Are you using component cable? You can use the button combo trick for component cable: push home button during game (you will be able to see the home screen) and select to read the manual, then push Z+A+2 (you'll need the nunchuk) and you will hear a sound, you should be able to play Virtual Console games now.

Hey guys. I'm using mighty channels to play some VC and loving it.
I'd like to use some Ocarina cheats with MC, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Would anyone be willing to post a walkthrough on how to get this to work?

Things I'm probably doing wrong:
1. How do you make the GCT? Cheatcode manager doesn't seem to like 4 digit NES ids, so I've just been adding 01 to the end of of the id in my .txt file.
2. Where on my sd card do I put the GCT?
3. I've turned on "Ocarina from SD" in the options, but that hasn't done anything (maybe because I'm doing 1 or 2 wrong). Is there some hotkey or other menu I need to pull up in the game? Do I have to use one of the ocarina + debugger options? (I've just left it on no ocarina, no debugger).

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the answer. It seems to work. Awesome. Still has some other issues with Mighty Channels, but I'll try to work them out before asking.

I hope this is really the final version!
Thank you for all of your hard work. I've really enjoyed the results! Best of luck with your other projects.

Thanks for the help marc_max, but I'm still not having any luck.

Here's what I've got:
trying to do super mario 2 (fbye)
so, I get fbye.txt, which I edit to look like this:
____________
FBYE01
Super Mario Bros. 2

Infinite Lives
* 003F0EED 00000064

Infinite Health
* 003FBF96 0000002C
______________

I open up this file in cheat code manager, select infinite lives, and export the gct, creating fbye01.gct
I rename this file to fbye.gct, and put it onto my sd at /config/mighty/cheats (mighty channels is ran from my sd card, the directory sd:/config/mighty existed, but I had to make the cheats directory).

I start up mighty channels, go to super mario bros 2, press 1, select "ocarina from sd", while leaving "no debugger" and "no ocarian &debugger" at default.

I start up the game, and see no confirmation that cheat codes are loaded (is there some kind of confirmation?) and when I die, my lives go down.

Do you have any other advice? Thanks a ton for the help so far.

i have the hdd partitioned first 1tb fat32 primary active, 2nd 1tb ntfs primary. uneek works fine with nand on first partition. mighty channels/wad manager always error when enabling nand emu, with old or new revisions of the cios. wiiflow/cfg usb loader work fine reading wbfs games from the same fat32 partition, so the cios is not completely incompatible with the drive, only when trying to enable nand emu. have been using d2x v3 b56, tried other bases but no go. anything i can do which could prove helpful let me know.
I'm also having problems with a two-partition external drive.. The 1st partition is a wbfs one, and the second is FAT32. I get a code dump when Mighty Channels try to read from the FAT32-partition. If i select the first partition (wbfs one) just to test, it "works" and say it can't find the title list (or something like that). But somehow it crashes completely when trying to read from the second partition (FAT32).

I have tried using d2x v3 base both 56 and 57

Can the anyone else reproduce this?

Does anyone run with the nand on a multi-partition disk without problems?

Can post a Code Dup if this is a new unknown poblem. Tried catching one with my mobile, but it was two blurry.

@Naguz
You must use the --partition argument in meta.xml
If the fat partition is the 1st one on the hdd use --partition=0
If the fat partition is the 2nd one on the hdd use --partition=1
And so on.

Then use the --path argument in meta.xml to specify where is the emulated nand on the fat partition.
For example, if your nand is on the root use --path=/
If it is inside the nand folder then use --path=/nand

Finally, if your hdd is greater than 1TB you should use d2x v4beta1 or higher, since v3 can't manage huge hdd properly.

If you still experience problems then post your meta.xml

If you still experience problems then post your meta.xmlHad set those options already. The drive is a 320GB one, so 1TB limit is not a problem

I don't think I made any obvious mistakes, but it IS late.

For curiosity's sake, i commented out the auto option. And Mighty channels loads nicely, until I select USB, then I get a code dump.
It loads internal NAND nicely. The nand files are in a folder called "nand" on the root of the USB drive. The FAT32 partition is the second partition, so 1 should be correct (GRUB-style
tongue.gif
). I tried with partition=0 to be sure, but then I got the "can't find games list" or similar error.

Everything seems correct.
Did you try using slot 249?
Which is the version of the cios in slot 250?
You can see it with syscheck.

I have not tried with slot 249 - I use 249 for "daily usage" and 250for experiments, so I usually don't test stuff there. I could try though, if you think it would make a difference?

I'm using cIOSX rev21d2x v3. I have tried with both 56 and 57 as base - no difference (Well, I didn't fine-read the code dump.

Here is the crappy image I took btw. Can uplod a better version tomorrow if it is useless.

Getting the same issue. Any ideas anyone?

I was getting ret=-1, when using a forwarder, It run ok from the homebrew channel, changed back to an old meta file, forwarder works again.

im not getting error ret=1 im geting ret=3. could this be a bad wad install or just a case of i have to many?

edit: so it was nota bad wad as it turns out i installed the 249r21 dx v3 and went back to 249r14 and went back to beta6 it retrives the game list but now i go to play bit trip core and get reading tmd failed .dol loading failed with all the games now.

OK, I'm about to go crazy dealing with this. This is the first time I have bothered with MC and it just is not working right. I have the latest DX2 cIOS's from the latest modmii installed. I have my virtual NAND on my USB hard drive.

Every wiiware or VC game I try to load I get the "identify failed" message. My SM IOS is fully patched. I have tried other cIOS's.

I know there is way too many pages of this thread for me to read that contain older info that may not be inportant anymore. I just dont want to dink around with this. Anyone know what my issue is?

I am using a NAND created by ModMi's nand builder and then I injected all of my WiiWare wads using ShowMiiWads. I am lost.

Have you tried the virtual nand on SNEEK/UNEEK? If it's working for NAND Emulation through UNEEK it should work with MC. I would offer to help figure it out but sadly everytime I set up a virtual nand with SNEEK or UNEEK it crashes and won't boot again after the first boot So i doubt I'd have much luck with MC...

Although the DI settings file seems to be my problem.... I'm going to have to try setting up UNEEK without DI and see if I can get it running then

I'm using Uneek+di. I created the virtual nand using ModMii and then injected all of my wiiware wads using ShowMiiWads. I was able to get it to work on first boot and run a wiiware game from the SM, but when I hit the 'Home' button and tried to go back to the SM, it just locked up. Ever since then my Uneek nand just halts, even when trying to get into priiloader.

I don't care to dink around too much, but if I can easily fix it then I will try.

i would use a dumped nand of your own. i've never had any issues with my own dumped nand. i'm sure modmii's is fine but maybe something is missing from it. it could also be your external. i have a 2.5 inch sata hdd in enclosure that worked 1 time and has not worked since with uneek. but my western digital 1tb works fine everytime.

edit: to keep on topic, it has worked with MC too. oh and try using rev17. that is the best nand emulator in my opinion for this type of stuff.

please check if there is a cert.sys in the sys folder of the virtual nand, if not, copy one from your nand dump.
Ik had the same problem...this fixed it.
