I've been using the Silver USB MicroSD Card Reader that came with the R4 to format/transfer all my files.

I'm worried that my MicroSD will corrupt/die because I'm using the Reader that came with the R4. (From what I've read, it kills MicroSDs?)

So does anyone else use it as well? If so, have you had any problems with it over a long timespan?

~(Is it normal for the Reader to get hot?)

i'm using the silver one and i'm having no problems

it gets hot after about an hours though, so i wouldnt leave it in the usb port

Thanks for the quick response!

Yeah mine gets hot too but I doubt seriously it actually kills cards. If you are paranoid use another one.

I'm using the silver and black one at the moment even though I have a built in card reader in my PC as I wanted to test this out.

You say the silver reader gets hot ? How long are you leaving the damn thing in for ? It takes next to no time to fill up a 2GB card for me, but then I don't leave it in there while I fanny about wondering what to put on there.

If you're worried about the reader getting hot my advice is to do what I do..... Get all the files you want to tranfer ready, plug in the reader, transfer the files, DISCONNECT THE READER !!!!!

Don't let anyone say the black and silver ones damage your card, they don't

early batches of R4's came with a horrible micro sd card reader which damaged your card.

I have the black and silver one, and thus far have had no problems whatsoever with it. I believe that the older R4's came with a bad reader, so they ordered better ones.
