Hacking microSD Card for R4i 3DS?

Proud new owner of an R4i Gold 3DS, but my 32GB microSDHC card doesn't seem to be working with it. My 2GB microSD works fine, however. I've reformatted (FAT32), done everything I can think of, but it will only boot to a blank screen. Any help?

Edit: Jk, it'll flash white then go to a blank screen.

basic troubleshooting stuff:

1) remove the sd card from the flashcart and re-insert it, to make sure that it isn't a problem with bad contacts. try again, and again, until you get bored of trying.

2) try using a different app to reformat the sd card, to make sure that the problem is not a unique quirk of the formatter app.

3) could be a compatibility problem between this particular flashcart and this particular brand/model of sd card. buy a different brand of sd card. also, do not purchase sd cards from the "grey market" websites that you buy flashcarts from. their sd cards are liable (and likely) to be counterfeits that don't work right. get your sd cards from amazon or walmart, or wherever.
