Hacking Micro SD card/R4i problem

I have two R4i RTS carts running Wood 1.64. One is used on my 3DS and the other for one of my little brothers and his DS Lite.

Now, the issue is DQIX runs perfectly fine on mine, but freezes on the start screen for my brother. I'm thinking the problem is the SD card as I then tried my SD card with his cart on his DS and the game worked fine. Why would the SD card he is using be causing any problems? Is there a fix or should I just invest in a new micro SD card?

It's the same rom? Both cards are running the same firmware?

Maybe try formating the card in FAT32.

Yep, same rom and same wood firmware. I'll try the FAT32 suggestion, thanks.
