ROM Hack MHX to MHGEN conversion tool

I installed mhx data manager, tried copy character from gen to x, it says read character 1 successful, but fail to open extdata when I tried to put it in mhx. Help?

Have you booted up MHX yet? I believe it creates ExtData just before hitting the main menu which is most likely needed.

After I transfer my save from mhx to mhxx ,I suddenly got lv10 DB with 310 raw +def 60 in equip box without doing any thing

Welp, people from google, here and reddit said that this tool could work both ways. Turns out in fact it doesn't. Tried this many, many times with many variations and didn't work. The error message is so fast I couldn't read what it is. Then I tried it rapidly on purpose just to see the error message. It said something along the way "MHX save data doesn't exist or is invalid". Welp, I can confirm now that it doesn't work both ways. Use the MHX Data Manager instead. I would also use it straight away but I've never installed MHX on my 3DS, and looking for it's CIA is an absolute royal pain in the butt.

i tried everything i could think off but i cant get the file to convert, when i drag the file to cgen nothing happens, can someone try to convert my save file and point out if theres any issues on the file itself? please.

Hey, how did you get your mhgen file to copy into your mhxx file? Mine keeps saying its 'unable to open extdata' . any advice? I'm using monster hunter save manager?

You need to converse mhgen save to mhx save first

That's right. You're having the same problem as me. Extdata is the save data for MHX and because it doesn't exist, the program couldn't make a change to it. We need to install MHX first, create a save data (extdata) and it should work.

Just the good news I'd like to hear once in a while. Going to PM you. I'm dumbfounded I couldn't find any save data repository site for 3DS on the net.

The reason it crashes is because you have mhgen event armors in your equipment inventory. Some event armors such as Lodestar doesnt exist in MHX. You have to unequip/delete event armors(those that exist only in MHGen) from equipment list and then do mhgen-mhx-mhxx transfer.

Hi guys, I'm very new to this kind of things. I've got the homebrew on my 3ds, already have done a backup of my mhgen save file, I have mhgen installed and a phisical copy of mhxx. Now i want to get my save files from mhgen to mhxx (don't have or ever had mhx). Can someone help me through this please?

It's not a big deal, I have done it.. Have you installed the *.cia?

Open Monster Hunter X Data Manager, then

Copy Character > Monster Hunter Generations (EUR)/(USA) [SELECT YOUR REGION] > Character Slot X (SELECT YOUR SAVE SLOT) > Monster Hunter X (JPN) > Character Slot X (SELECT THE SLOT YOU WANTED YOUR SAVE SLOT TO BE PLACED) > PRESS "A" = YES.. DONE!

This is my intention too. Redownloading X as I deleted it once I got Gen.

Actually, I already picked up XX for 3DS so I can get used to playing in Japanese. Not doing so well but XX is literally my final 3DS game. lol Currently using MHGen DB on Android. There is an XX database app but it's all in Japanese. There are so many reviews for it asking to translate it for foreign players so I hope they do so, that way it would cover anything new that's been added. I was away this past weekend and MH4U DB came in handy even though I had no signal. Google Translate was useless. Even though I downloaded Japanese and English, the camera based translation refused to work without internet. :/ I mainly used that for food.

If you already bought it, why not just install a CIA and translated patch? They have XX for 3DS in full english except for dialogue.
