MHGU change gender via modded 3ds?

I love MHGU and i got a shit ton of stuff and hundreds of hours but i don’t like being a female character anymore if i transfer my save to a modded 3ds could i edit the save to be a guy or would that corrupt it or get my switch account banned

If you pay for Nintendo Switch Online, that may actually flag something in the system upon loading the edited save data back onto Switch and the save data is backed up again; and that says nothing about what the game itself does. We do not know the depths of Nintendo's telemetry, at least in games (we know about firmware telemetry), and as far as I know it is unlikely that anything will get flagged by NSO if you have a 'proper' save file, although it is possible that Nintendo has per-game checks on the save data backup feature, and gender is a thing compared against on their servers; in other words, unless we know exactly what is done on Nintendo's servers (which is impossible to know) with save data, I cannot guarantee that you won't be banned that way. As I said before, we also don't know if MHGU on Switch does any telemetry, nor what kinds if it does, so if you go online with a modified gender, I cannot say for certain you won't be banned.

Unlikely to be banned, but there's a risk.
