Hacking MH4U DLC - Costumes questions

I have a a retail cart of MH4U running on SysNand 9.2. How can i get the dlc costumes while running on sysNand? I already installed mh4u update 1.1 via eshop while running Emunand 9.5.

Shall I run it using gateway classic? or it will just erase my save file?

Give me some options please
