You guys are idiots. Please do some fact checking before you call out Nintendo. It's not a space issue, it's an issue of the quirks the original game had. Because your gun never moved from its position during those special effects, they were drawn on screen as sprites. It's not rendered in a 3D environment at all. This goes for the ice over the gun, the balls of fire over the gun, and more. As for the water effects, those weren't in Metroid Prime 2 on GCN either. They were one of sole reasons MP1 ever dipped below a solid 60 FPS, this is obvious in several of the water areas. Combine widescreen plus those, you'd get it in many more places.

Nintendo had nothing to do with this. Retro Studios didn't redraw the special effects on the gun for whatever reason.

First off, go buy a pair of non-bunching panties. They give you the support you love so much without adding the extra anger points.

Second, if you consider those big enough "quirks", then you're obviously way to nitpicky to play games, let alone ports. Of course they'll make some trade-offs. Do you really think any port goes seemlessly, or even makes the game better? There's awesome ports out there (this one included) but they will never be as good as the original games on the original systems. The only game I would consider a "port" that was better is Twilight Princess (from GC to Wii), but even then the Wii version was released earlier than the GC version, so whether or not it was a port is questionable.

Third, you're obviously one of the idiots who look for holes where there aren't any to try to make a game that's "too good" seem bad. It always happens for any game. People will say Ocarina of Time is the best game ever (it's definately Top 3), and there will be people who say "the camera sucks". You're just one of those people who points out issues where there aren't any. No game is perfect. You just take the few flaws that great games have and try to blow them out of proportion to make a great game seem like a suckfest.

You, sir, are the idiot.
