I think the Grapple beam might be tied to status of the flare pool boss. I hacked both the Grapple and lasso, but Its not giving the lockon required for lasso. Im testing it on the first boss room, the one with a pull gate.

Has anyone figured out which values control the difficulty?

Edit: After testing myself, each save has 3 values that hold the difficulty value. Why 3? What do each do? I don't know.

I found that the hex values for each difficulty are as follows:

Casual: 75 44 9A 26
Normal: 7F FF 7B F6
Hard: 28 B3 44 18

This is one part I was looking for.
However, it seems like we are still missing some important data.
  • Viola Bike skins. These are unlocked via de Samus+Viola Amiibo. Each one is unlocked depending on the travel distance you ride with Viola in game. They're 8 in total.
  • Viola desert riding music. This one is unlocked with the Samus Amiibo. I did notice that tracks from other places can also be played.
  • All Green Crystals. Shattering all the green crystals in Sol Valley unlocks several art galleries.
  • Hard mode mission complete. This one also unlocks several art galleries.
Once those 4 points are covered, I think anyone can easily unlock everything at will in the game. Let me know if I missed anything.

To compliment these points, here's my save file of the game.
I have 96% scans and 100% items, loading the Auto-save after editing the scans up to 100% could possibly unlock the 100% scans galleries.

In that very save I also have unlocked all the Viola skins, as well as the Desert Music unlock, both from the amiibos. I hope this helps.

Lastly. If someone could modify the auto save one to be hard mode and have all the scans + all green crystals, please do so and share, that would unlock everything in the game

A bit late, but it could be attached to one of the 'unknown' upgrades that don't show up in the inventory screen.
Much like power bombs, and the ability to throw them are technically two different upgrades even if you get them at the same time.

Ah, I did a test on that, it turns out in addition to a hidden flag, you do have to visit the area once, the test i did was in volt forge, near the generators there is a physic ball boost shortcut, I took it and went back. The Grapple beam, unlike the spiderball, can not be activated midlevel.

Do you know where in the save file stores the control settings? I have run into the problem of 'flight invert Y' inverting the gyro controls for the Control Beam as well as the right stick axis, and wonder if there are two values being changed by the one toggle (vs. camera and lock-on aiming having independent inversion settings for gyro (does anyone actually do this?) and stick) that I could separately edit manually.
