I have finally retired my good ol DS Lite and switched to using the 3DS completely. But I have come across one really annoying proble, the stylus gets uncomfortable after a relativly short period.

This is because it is metal. I tried a metal extendable stylus on the Lite before, and had this problem.

Is this just me?

Is it really metal? I thought it was just shiny pseudo-metal...

I personally like the huge pen sized stylus I got :D

Well it's probably a light metal like Aluminium, so maybe you have trouble with that element precisely.

Otherwise, I never felt uncomfortable, even after the awesome stylus that was with the Lite.

I always used a metal extendable stylus on my Lite, so found the 3DS stylus very similar, and do not find it uncomfortable at all.

Saying that, I am however using an xstylus crayon for both my Lite and 3DS atm, mainly just to be different :P but i find those comfortable also.

I guess I must be weird then. It feels like the material being harder is the problem.

For the moment I have tried wrapping some tape around the pen, for what it's worth. I have seen plastic 3DS pens so they might be worth the shot. Or maybe I can just get used to it.

I prefer the 3DS stylus, but miss having it on the side like on the DS lite. I abentmindly still grab for it on the side sometimes.

If you really like the lite stylus better, no reason you can't use that on the 3DS.

I think it's not comfortable because it's on the left hand side of the game slot, when the DS Phat had it to the right which is more smart because you use it with your right hand so you need to pause the game pretty much to get the stylus now.

Personally I like the fact that it's now at the left side in contrast to the DSlite since I'm a leftie . But I find it uncomfortable at the back of the 3ds, which is kinda annoying.

I keep pulling on the wifi cover trying to pull out the stylus, lol.

hmm u might have allergy from Aluminium.
its true i googled it :D
so the best thing is tooooo ummmmmm change back to the old ds stylus

i have a lot of the XL sized stylii, but i actually think the tip of the 3DS stylus is superior, in that the point is rather sharp but still silky smooth, compared to the blunt tips of the XL stylus.

that said, i'll probably switch to an XL stylus if any stylus-intensive games come my way. comfort is always the way to go for me.

I guess why Nintendo did that is to lessen the use of the stylus in 3DS games. I feel that DS games overuse the stylus a lot. They might want to replace the stylus with say your fingers? Since you won't really need the touchscreen as a main control option anymore?

My guess anyway. :P

using your finger smudges the screen tho :(
Phone's don't do that right?

Phones use a lot of your fingers. :P

I mean most 3DS games now use the lower screen as maps/items/settings etc. so the use of it as some important control option is much eliminated.

That's debatable, I'm left handed so I find it much easier to remove from there. =3

And I like the 3DS stylus, I already used some like this for my DS Lite. =3
