It's decent. The gameplay is quite different from the arcade incarnations, but it's a decent platformer by itself.

Please note, I haven't played more than the first level. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. And a spoonful of sugar.

yes, i recommend the advanced version. its the same mechanics of metal slug but now you can collect items/cards whatever and can save after every mission. i found the game to be extremely hard though, trying to collect all the items while not dying.

metal slug advance is highly recommended! take it from me, i love 1-6, and have been playing them since i was like 11. Just like what cheapassdave said, its really hard!

The Neo Geo team (or whoever is responsible for the Metal Slug games) were going to make them for GBA......well, that never happened. They should make a compilation for the DS. 2 or 3 of them per cart would be good.

It may never happen of course since they made them for the Wii.

Ive always been into the Metal Slug games (mame FTW) But i found the GBA version to be a little short... Passed it quite quickly. I would have made it a little harder, like after you get X amount of points you get another life.... Too easy IMO

But YAYAYAYA! Metal Slug on DS!!

07 commando looks a lot like metal slug.
It's coming for the DS soon, maybe you guys should try and hold out a little.
