Gaming Metal Slug 1

What ever happened to the Metal Slug 1 port for GBA? The game was supposed to be near completion, but I havent heard news of it since.

well, SNK still lists it on their main page, and online retailers are taking pre-orders for Dec. 1...probably a placeholder date

...but this is SNK...it could just disappear indefinately

I just find it weird that they would cancel publishing the game. According to numerous gaming sites who had a hands on with a pre-release version of it, it was near complete, and just awaiting the publishing stage. Maybe they scrapped the GBA version, and are going to release a DS version?

The date has been pushed back too many times..same as with Capcom's Mega Man Mania (Anniversary Collection) for GBA. In the latter case, it also got cancelled.

If they release it on the DS (either game) I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

They were *done* developing Metal Slug for the most part though, thats what I dont get. Why would you not publish a game that would obviously make a lot of sales.

Probably because they feel the money just isn't there, or that the timing isn't right, or that the game isn't as good as they wanted..who knows.

I hope it still comes, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.
