IOS249 removes the Trucha check. The 3.3 update installs a new IOS30 so previous system menu like 3.2e will block the trucha signing and a downgrade with the tool of Waninkoko won't help.

As the system menu currently uses IOS30 - which is patched with the Trucha protection - it won't work even with a downgrade. But if you force the system menu to use a IOS that allows Trucha signed discs, like the IOS5249, it should work.

Actually I dunno if IOS36 or other versions have the fix for the Trucha signing.

Uh.... you're misinformed. Trucha works on older versions, even after a downgrade.

Just boot the system menu with IOS35. Voila, trucha's back.

Or if you're on 3.2, boot it with IOS37 to experience what not having trucha is like.

No. That link is the NAND modified way to do it.

This is a way to do the "hacks" without having to mess with anything like IOS's or anything in your Wii's memory.

Wrong, marcan's doesn't mess with NAND.

crediar's does.

You're really misinformed buddy, get your facts straight.

Are you completely on crack?? I just said that Marcan's didn't mess with the NAND... hence "This is a way to do the hacks WITHOUT having to mess with anything like IOS's or anything in your Wii's memory."... your Wii's memory is the NAND...

And Shuny... sticking up for me? Wow... I think the apocalypse is upon us!

Here's a package with the XML and icon file for the HBC

Very interesting, as soon as this patch allows region free Wii/GC games, I'll stick it on my SD. Right now, it's more of a showcase for what's to come.
Oh, and what patches are actually possible when doing this? All custom firmware/patches so far seems to have exactly the same features, so I was wondering if we'd already unlocked most of what we can do, or not?
