Hi everybody. I've got a bit of an issue.

I have a SanDisk 4.0 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, which I've owned for several years now, and have used exclusively as a PSP memory stick. Up until yesterday, it was working 100% perfectly, no problems whatsoever. So yesterday, I decided to try playing Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday, via M33-Prometheus firmware.

The game doesn't boot, and my PSP stops responding, so I turned it off, and shortly after turned it back on. Now my PSP can't access the memory stick. My PC can view the card just fine, and I've tried formatting it through the PC a few times under different settings, to no effect. When I try formatting the stick directly through the PSP, I get an 80220089 error. My other memory stick, which conveniently happens to be an official SONY card, works fine.

I am in need of your collective knowledge, GBATemp. I ask of you, what happened and if possible, how do I fix it?

...As I mentioned in my initial post, I have another memory stick, an official SONY card which works fine. My PC can read both cards without issue.

Layer some tape on the opposite side of the contacts to see if it's a contact issue.

If it's not a fake stick, which i doubt as it's a Sandisk, it's SOOOOOO much this if other sticks work fine.
