Came here to say this is so fun! I tested it and couldn’t have expected more :)

I’m just so excited to finally get familiar

Hi !

I have SX OS and i met crash Melonds also. (I use the « Title+R » method to go to homebrew launcher. I noticed that when i disable fast memory emulation option, the game doesn’t crash anymore but i loose an interesting option. Thanks by advance if someone has a workaround or an explanation. By the way, catlover your emulator is awesome ! Thanks !

Finally I can get it running by disabling this option after seeing your post. It might be a SXOS specific issue.

to those people who have problems with SX OS, you should have read the main post:
Atmosphere title replacement to launch the hbmenu is the only supported method of running melonDS!
that said, Fast Memory does stuff similar to what Flycast does by default, you can guess the rest.

This also happened to me the first time i tried it (I am using Atmosphere), but when i tried another game it worked fine, i tried to reproduce it with the game it crashed before to see if the problem was the file but now it works fine, so i am not sure what was the cause.
that's weird, has someone else (using Atmosphere) experienced this as well?

Thank thanks alot .. great work man ... but one question how can use cheat file ?
Can you use cheat files?
cheat support was already added to melonDS, but it's currently not exposed in the GUI. No ETA on when that's gonna happen though

I didn't see it in the FAQ, but will this update come to retroarch?

I primarily use that melonds for achievements, so I'm hoping that it does.

I've also had a few crashes in the menu using atmosphere. Maybe it's an issue related to 10.1.0 ? I've also been experiencing weird crashes on NXThemesInstaller since I updated.

The libretro core has been already rebased, but needs to be pushed to the repository, it should be soon on buildbot.

@catlover007 Glad to see you're still working on this emu, I've been wanting to play the ds zelda titles and now performance is better than ever.
But there does seem to be an audio issue with phantom hourglass that wasn't there before.
At the start of the game when you enter the temple of the ocean king, all the audio cuts out. In the next room with linebeck its the same. But if you leave the temple, the audio is fine. Anyway, keep up the good work!
(Edit) The bug is present in other places as well, the basement of a house on the first dungeon's island and the first dungeon itself.

Hi !

This emulator is wonderful and I say again thank u to catlover007.

Just a little question : I have slowdowns in some game (like castlevania dawn of sorrow or another code for example). Do i miss something or is it normal ? Thanks by advance to any answer.

yes, the game is pretty heavy on polygons, you still need overclocking to get to fullspeed in this game.

Ok
Do you Know if it’s easy to fix, or do i have to forget fullspeed emulation without overclocking ?

And by the way, is it safe to use overclock or can it damage the switch ?
Thank u

it's not easy, but I hope it's archievable. Overclocking the cpu only is pretty safe as the chip is made to withstand higher clock rates, but is underclocked to save battery. This is of coures only one aspect, the higher power draw and load on the cooling system is another story. I only overclock for testing, but some people do it all the time and their fine (from what I've heared), so ultimately it's up to you.
