This week as expected, Monster Hunter World charts at number 1 with an impressive 1,350,412 units sold at retail in its first 3 days on sale. That number is a record for a PS4 game at launch in Japan. This does not include digital numbers. Ironically in 20th place, we see Monster Hunter Double Cross for the Switch. Maybe now with the success of World, we will see Double Cross come over to West..?
Also as expected, we see PS4 hardware sales spike, with 140k units moved. This number will possibly rise in the coming weeks as word spreads of how well Monster Hunter is doing.
