Hardware Max storage size SD card 3DS XL

Hi guys,

Could you tell me what the max storage size is for the SD card for the 3ds XL.
I tried to search for it on internet but I only kept getting results that max storage size is 4gb from nintendo's own site.
I want to upgrade to a bigger storage size because I want to install some cia's for my 3ds, but they are larger than 2 gb and therefore won't fit on my default 4 gb sd card.

Pretty sure 128gb can be reached, not sure about anything higher.

Wonder if FBI handles that free space over 100gb bug.
