Stuff like this:

Is awesome.
Shortcuts/glitches/exploits are cool, they still take a lot of skill to pull off and exploration to discover, as long as there was a human behind the controller it's all good in my books.

I really like being able to watch the world record time trials, but if you check grumble volcano's world record right now, you'll see it's some douche called "Ihack@you" with the time of 0.011.
Not only that, if you download his run, you just download a boring default bot run that doesn't match the time at all.

I just hope this isn't something that continues or nintendo can put a stop to
anyone have any information on hacking the timetrials?

well, nintendo couldnt put a stop to the GV short cut, so I doubt they can do anything with hacked times either. They can however delete them like they used to delete GV times, untill they eventually gave up lol.

Ihack@U used to be a cool Nsider.. he was one of the first with the offline track hack in MKDS. I dont think he was ever interested in cheating though, he just liked to mess around with stuff offline, and have some offline tracks online which everyone thought was cool.
He must have changed, or its not the same guy becuase I cant imagine him doing anything like that... HE was a very smart dude though, so if anyones capable of it its him. I think his screen name used to be somthing like BIG_BOO or somthing similiar if anyone used to go to the MKDS board.

There's a quicker way of doing that Volcano trick, you can do it straight from the start line

Ihack@you is mentioned on gamefaqs now and again, looks like he's hacked the game good and proper.

I doubt Nintendo can sort this out.

Pretty cool but I'm a bit pissed about this. I can't even do it

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
