Hacking Mario Kart Region Problems using a back up.

So I'm using a 1:1 backup of Mario Kart Wii but when ever I select wifi LOCAL REGION it sais im in NY for some reason... Could this be because im using a NTSC backup?

Is there a way I can change my region without having to re-download a PAL backup???? Normally I wouldn't care but it lags out for me sometimes for me.

I'm living in the UK with a PAL Wii.

Oh and ive tried forcing PAL on my backup loader and it didnt work.,..


any help would be awesome
