Misc Mario Kart DS glitching?

snaking is a valid and accepted technique. it is by no means unfair or skilless. in fact, not being able to do it on wifi (it's only 100cc vs wat ppl usually play, 150cc) is quite sad. u shouldn't have to rely on luck (good items) to win. yes i know its taking advantage of a game mechanic, but u play to win don't u? if everyone is doing something u can't do, stop whining, and play with other ppl that think snaking is cheating as well. then u'll all be happy. besides, wifi lags to much, has too many hackers, and ppl keep disconnecting. stick to playing with friends.

Though, there are two bad things about snaking:
a) it rapes ur dpad. my friend (who's a beast at snaking) fucked up the left direction. it doesn't even go in properly now. lol
b) it makes almost all the karts bad except for dry bomber and egg kart 1 (with a few random exceptions).

the fact they took out snaking in the wii mk, disappointed me greatly. its just further proof that nintendo is forgetting about hard-core players, and is just catering to the rest of the population *cough* brawl.

Snaking is not cheating. It is a skill.

I know its a skill but I think they could probably win without it. If you snake its like showing off to the other person. Also, it takes time to learn how to snake and I prefer using my time playing other games.

Snaking is just like wavedashing and shine-spamming in Melee. An abuse of game physics. Intentional? In MarioKart's case, I don't know, but they at least fixed it (somewhat) in Wii. Melee is obviously not meant to be like that though. It can be considered a skill either way, but all it comes down to is how well you can keep repeating a pattern of button sequences. You're not really reacting to your opponents strategies and you really take the fun out of everyone else's experience.

One of my friends who wavedashes called out another WDer and he said that "if it wasn't meant to be like that, then it wouldn't have been in the game." *rolleyes* PC gamers have the benefit of patches, but console gamers get the short end of the stick there, don't they?
