Hacking Mario kart channel question...

I have 3.2u with starfall and wii connect24 disabled, for a random fear of a nintendo update. I am buying mario kart wii tomorrow, and it apperently comes with a channel that requires a legal disk to run. If I install this channel from the official disk, will it make me to update or leave my wii vunerable to wifi updates? Or will it just install and work without updating anything?

If I installed it as a .wad would it make a difference?

i run a backup of mario kart, have never had the option of "installing" the channel, however i can go the the mario kart "channel" via the game disc with no problems. get full access to tournaments, downloadable ghosts etc etc...

im 3.2u w/ starfall....

Is there a way to extract the wad of the channel from the dvd/iso?
I don't fancy to install a wad downloaded from internet because of the risk to brick my wii.
