Hacking Mario Kart 8 Inkling Mod?

Since Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been out for a year now, I would have expected the modding community to have made an Inkling mod for Wii U owners. Simply rip the model and sounds from MK8D and port it to MK8 over an undesirable character (like any of the babies or Pink Gold Peach/Metal Mario). To my surprise, there isn't one. If there is a playable Inkling mod for Mario Kart 8, someone please point me to it. I don't feel like paying about $360 to play as one character for a game I already own (I know there's now a proper Battle Mode, but I've never been a Battle Mode fan).
In all honesty, Nintendo could have easily made Inklings DLC for Wii U owners.

I can't see this happening - simply because the wiiu scene is dead now (and it was always pretty dead).

The switch hacking scene on the other hand is about to be lit. Buy in before ninty starts selling the mariko switches.
