Manga worth buying?

So i wanted to start a collection. A Manga collection. Of course il be buying them at Barnes & Nobles. What kind of manga is worth buying? And that i can enjoy?
Please do not include:
Death Note(Watching it online. And i love it like that. I went to the library to read a volume and it wasn't that exciting. But Case Closed was nice.... Im thinking of Case Closed for my Manga Collection. Any recommened Manga Series?

Berserk... Although I don't know if they censored/edited it in the Dark Horse version. If they did, then fuck that.

A classic that I would to buy once I have a decent paying job is Akira. First manga I ever read and damn it blew my mind. However, each volume is about half a dictionary and costs around 40-50 bucks. Worth it though.

I found the anime to be better than the manga series though.

CLAMP is indeed awesome. And yeah, I enjoyed the anime more than the manga as well. I can't believe I forgot Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles...
