Hardware Make a Backup of a Backup?

I want to rip the ISO from a backup I have so I can put it on my external hard drive because I deleted the original ISOs on my computer.
Is it possible? And if it is could somebody tell me how to do it?

just stick the DVD-r in your PC's DVD reader and rip it to iso. it is really that easy.

You can use every DVD drive to do that, no special drive needed. Imgburn is the best for that.
