Hacking MAIO: Moonshell All-in-One for Acekards

For this test, i replaced AKAIO 1.5 with the cracked version, and then tried running it.

I'm guessing you were using either MAIO v1.00 or V2.00 (as these are the only ones with v1.5.x akaio in them) - if so that might explain why it doesn't work.
The 'fixes' used to allow Moonshell to run commercial roms for those MAIO versions were built for JUST those AKAIO versions and not any others, so you can't replace the 1.5.1 version with the modified 1.5 version & expect it to work

What you could try is one of the newer versions (either MAIO v2.01/v3.00/v3.01 perhaps) as these versions don't use any modified Moonshell files to get it to run ROMS

What you WILL need to do though is (I'm sure Xenon++ will correct me if I'm wrong) is:

• > Replace the '_aio' folder with your modified version
  > Replace the 'akaio.aio' AND the 'akaio.nds' files (in the root directory) with a renamed copy of your modified 'ak4menu.nds'
  > You may also need to replace the file 'rpgs.nds' inside the '/moonshl2/resetmse/' folder with yet another copy of your modified 'ak4menu.nds' file

Remember to back up your card before attempting anything and I can't guarentee that even this will work

Sorry for replying so late.
But yes, I was playing Mario vs donkey kong march of the minis2, played it like 2 times last week. Today I try to play it, it auto loads to akaio 1.7, load bar finishes, then black screen with yellow loading, but then the top and bottom screen just sit at white.
It only happeneds on certin games for me, mario v dk march of minis 2, and hotel dusk room 215, other then that this never happends,
(By the way is it only me or does Maplestory DS not work with akaio firmware?

Sound like it's faulting out on Moonshells disk checking

Did you 'backup' > 'format > install MAIO like it says on the first post ??? - sometimes if you install on top of an existing setup it can cause problems

Anyway - even if you did that & it still happens then try these steps:-

> On PC open the 'moonshl2.ini file' (found in '/moonshl2/' folder'
> Scroll down & change the setting 'AlwaysDisabledCheckDisk=0' to 'AlwaysDisabledCheckDisk=1'
> Save the file
> Try again

Do you have a MAIO package that contains only the necessary files to be updated/replaced for us not to download the whole Moonshell2 and AKAIO again in every update?

Since you asked nicely - I'll tell you what I did to update MAIO 3.01 to 3.02 (note this will NOT work with any other MAIO First I made a backup off all the files on the card - just to be safe
> Downloaded the latest AKAIO file (1.7.1) & extracted them to another folder on the PC (you'll end up with the '_aio' folder, 'akmenu4.nds' and a couple of TXT files)
> Deleted the contents of the '_aio' folder on the flashcard EXCEPT the '/ui/' folder (as I wanted to keep the skins already there)
> Copied the contents of the AKAIO 1.7.1 '/_aio' folder into the same folder on the Flashcard
> RENAMED the 1.7.1 'ak2menu.nds' to 'akaio.aio' - & copied this over to the flashcard (overwritting the existing 'akaio.aio')

... that's it.
It's now just a case of booting up, 'reset to firmware' & changing the skin in AKAIO to the 'MAIO' skin

FYI - I usually include the 'Full package' for anyone who's never used it before, I guess I should add the above to first post for any 'regular users'

I'm not exactly using MAIO (use the favlaunch to autoboot MS2 and then press B for AKAIO xD), but I only really had to just rename the akmenu4.nds to "aio" (that is what I use since I find it pointless to make a name longer than it needs to be) and then update the loaders and plugin (although I could update the language, since apparently there was a little bit of changes in it).

MAIO 3.01 and 3.02 doesn't autoboot here, I don't know why. installed the files correctly and all the stuff, even without the child update.
