After updating my luma to 6.5 and my sysNAND to 11.2.0-35U my splash screens no longer work but the .bin files and everything are in the correct location on SD card

You'll see splash screen settings on your Luma3DS settings. Make sure you turn on either Before payloads or After payloads.
