For some reason when I use DC7, it works fine on my slim and I can run it but my phat refuses to start up.
The green light comes on for a bit and then goes off. Is DC7 just for slims and should I try an older version?

Alright
so I got it to work but I'm thinking theres somethign wrong with the phat.
It keeps freezing when it actually runs but most of the time when I stick in the battery, the green light comes on and then off...

EDIT: nevermind. After a lot of perserverance, it finally unbricked

EDIT2: I unbricked it only to have it brick on me again :wtf:...
There is something seriously wrong wih this PSP and I'll be sure to tell this guy that.
I've fixed it again but I reckon it'll be temporary just like this time.

Beware of fake memory sticks - they can cause "like-brick" states. All it takes is taking out the memory stick to allow the PSP to boot up though.

Unbricking PSP phat (after a failed update) was pretty simple for me. I just followed the DC7 walkthrough using my PSP Slim and finished in about 5 minutes. I used http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=3780 for everything.
