i have the pal backup of mad world and i want to play it on my crt monitor using a vga lead.but the game is only 50hz so i have a blank screen with sound.i have tried to force it to ntsc with backup launcher but then it wont load.is there a way to get it to work in ntsc mode with another launcher eg gecko, etc or will i have to get the ntsc backup to play it

get the ntsc version .your monitor does not support pal games if the ntsc code is not in the game iit wont work same for your other post

Do you need 60Hz playback or NTSC playback?

I don't have a method to verify if something runs in 480i or 576i, so i can't test it myself:
Run the game with my toy and force the video mode you want with it, but note that patching the video mode in this game causes the game to freeze if you use the home menu.
