Mad Catz Makes Its Comeback

Mad Catz, the legendary name is video game products and accessories, is Back in the Game, some nine months after closing their doors.

Proof positive that Mad Catz has at least nine lives, the company is back, under new management, with new ideas, and new products!

We have so much more to share through the year, but suffice to say, the new Mad Catz is dedicated to creating state-of-the-art, high quality products, designed in-house to rival anything available today. At CES 2018, the first in the new range will be unveiled in the form of a range of new PC products.

Ah man, I'll have to pay attention to what they roll out. They were always the goto for third party Nintendo accessories. I always got GBA link cables from them, Gamecube controllers with one of them being transparent, a little small in size, kind of like a slim Xbox 360 controller, also a similar style but wireless. Good times. I could do for a mouse and headset replacement.

I bought a gameshark gba from them. And it didn't work straight out of the box. Bought another. Also didn't work. I had to open it and bang the pins into place to get it to read my game cards.

i wonder how many people will be happy about this.
do they really believe there is a gap in the market for stuff that they will make?

wouldn't it be at least two lives?
since if they died and closed once, now they are back.
or have they gone 8 times?
let the people have their jokes

Weird as I bought their $200 arcade stick for PS4 brand new a few weeks ago, must be old stock.

Anyway nice of them to bring some competition to the table regarding PC peripherals. As much as I love razer products I'd like someone else at their level with durable products for a change.

They've been pretty shoddy in the past. I owned one of their RAT mice.. And it was subpar.. Not worth the $60 I paid for it.

Not sure why anyone would buy them up, no one was crying when that cat was put to sleep.

we had a plethora of mad catz branded stuff from battery packs to gameboy lights, chargers, grips and controllers. and they all broke way too quickly ridiculously fast even.

maybe the stuff differend between countries, but here, they were garbage.

all of their products was poorly built trash, from their memory cards that would randomly erase/corrupt, from the controllers that would break after a week
I doubt this stuff will be any different, they are also entering a pretty crowded pc peripheral space

Hey, I still have some Mad Catz memory cards and controllers from a few years ago, and they work great! I haven't had anything break, corrupt, erase, or whatever!

I used to have my entire music collection in FLAC, but there is so many songs and devices that I want to store them that lossless compression wasn't enough, not to mention compatibility

a few years ago I decided to convert everything to mp3 with a relatively high bitrate, I had a terrible feeling I would regret doing that but to honest, I couldn't tell the difference in the audio quality after I did that

I got rid of my local music collection years ago when I subscribed to Google Play Music. Big regerts

I'm planning to start building it back up though. Plus, Usenet automation around music downloading has gotten so much better since then

I used to use high end headphones and speakers JBL back when they made good speakers lol X-Fi Fatality edition sound card on PCI with XP back when Windows had good sound....

I mean built in sound on mobo's has gotten way better but still XP handled sound better and X-Fi was still better than onboard audio even to this day

Hell not sure what was going on but for like a few weeks MP3's sounded muffled, some driver or Windows update fixed it. Thank god lol

Oh boy Massdrop has $1100 IEMs. Want, but not at that price lmao. https://drop.com/buy/campfire-audio-andromeda-emerald-sea-iem
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it's a cool idea but damn
